St. Marcus Kids will look a little different over the summer. We’ll continue offering the Nursery (0–3 year olds) and K3–K5 (those who were in K3, K4, or K5 this past school year) during all three services. These groups will continue walking through The Gospel Project curriculum we started last fall.
For 1st–6th graders, a weekly resource will be available at the back of the Sanctuary to be used during the sermon when their Kids group would normally be happening. This tool will follow the same Bible stories being taught in the younger classes and will include:
  • A story summary
  • Review and application questions
  • Engaging activities
  • A coloring page
  • A space for prayer
The resource is designed to be accessible for kids at any level and age. Here's how you can support your child in using it:
For younger kids:
  • Encourage them to try their best with reading, spelling, and answering questions on their own during the sermon.
  • Offer to go through the pages with them later in the day or week.
For older kids:
  • Encourage them to read the full Bible story using the reference provided at the top of the summary and look up additional Bible passages listed in the questions.
  • Invite them to thoughtfully write out prayers — they’ve been practicing this!
  • There are also Sermon note guides in the back if this is what your family would like to focus on.
For all kids:
  • Since this is a replacement for the usual Kids Time, encourage them to participate with you during the beginning of the service and then use the resource during the sermon.
  • If they have their own Bible, bring it along and use it to complete the pages.
  • Go through the resource together at home later in the day or week.
  • Use the included QR code to explore additional resources during the week.
  • Consider bringing a small Ziploc of crayons or markers for coloring.
